There are just a few days left before the start of the Skate Ontario Provincial Championships: the crown jewel in the organization’s Provincial Series crown.

Competing at the provincial figure skating championships is a big deal where skaters have had to compete to secure their spot. Every twizzle, spin, jump, lift and block is a testament to the countless hours spent perfecting routines, honing techniques, and pushing the boundaries of personal performance.

Coach Marc-Andre Servant from Scarboro’s Ice Dance Elite said of his two ice dance teams who have qualified for the Provincials, “this is an excellent opportunity for the skaters to achieve their own personal best scores and further develop their skills under pressure.”

Over the course of the three-day event, from March 22 – 24, 2024, you can expect to see hundreds of skaters take the ice at the CASSIE CAMPBELL COMMUNITY CENTRE (1050 Sandalwood Pkwy W, Brampton, Ontario). This prestigious event will showcase events in all five disciplines: men’s and women’s Singles, Pair, Ice Dance and Synchro.

“Congratulations skaters! You did it! We couldn’t be more #SkateOntarioProud of you!” said Skate Ontario Executive Director, Lisa Alexander. “Throughout the Skate Ontario Provincial Series presented by Elite Jump Performance, you persevered. Regardless of result, qualifying for Provincials is a wonderful accomplishment and for those skaters looking to get here, your time will come.”
