Assessment Day & Assessment Information

We are excited to announce that Assessment Days will gradually begin resuming on August 15, 2020. Please continue to check back here for any COVID-19 updates affecting Assessment Days and processes moving forward.

COVID-19 & Assessment Days

Skate Ontario will begin a gradual phasing in of Assessment Days  beginning August 15, 2020.

  • Consideration will be given to the length of time the club has been back on the ice and number of assessments anticipated
  • A maximum of one Assessment Day per club will be scheduled between August 15-September 30, 2020 to ensure the greatest number of clubs receive an Assessment Day during this time

Yes, all Evaluators will complete the Skate Ontario COVID-19 Waiver and these will be directly collected by Skate Ontario. Assessment Coordinators do not need to  ask  Evaluators to complete these.

It is recommended that Evaluators complete the Health Screening Questionnaire  48 hrs priorto the scheduled Assessment Day.  If an Evaluator answers “Yes” to any of these questions, they are not permitted to participate in any on-ice or off-ice club/skating school activities.

The Health Screening Questionnaire must also be completed upon arrival at the arena on the day of the Assessment Day .

Dances can be shadowed for Assessment Days, however a physical distance of 2 metres must be maintained.

Requests for Assessment Days that are scheduled from  October 1, 2020 and onward will move to our new online system.  Training on our new online system will begin this fall and requests will be accepted beginning mid-September. (Sept.15, 2020) . Further details will be communicated in the Club newsletter and posted on the Assessment Days page on our website.

Skate Ontario will permit a maximum of one Assessment Day per club between October 1-December 31, 2020 in order to ensure the greatest numbers of clubs receive an Assessment Day during this time.
