Information About STAR 1-4 Event Assignments
Skaters can expect to receive confirmation of their event assignment by 4:00 PM ET Tuesday, October 22nd, 2024. Event assignments will be sent to the email address provided in the survey. Coaches will receive a copy of each skater’s event assignment to the email address provided in the survey.
Registration links for assigned athletes will be sent by 4:00 PM ET the business day prior to the Assigned Athlete Registration Period for each event. For STAR 1-4 Leaside and Huntsville, assigned athletes will receive their registration links by 4:00 PM ET Wednesday, October 23rd, 2024.
If you have already completed the Provincial Series Assignment Process Survey for STAR 5+ freeskate, you are not eligible to complete the STAR 1-4 Assignment Process. Please contact [email protected] if you have any questions or would like to be removed from the Provincial Series Assignment Process.
New for the upcoming season, Skate Ontario is piloting an assignment process for the STAR 1-4 events scheduled for January, February and March 2025. The STAR 1-4 Assignment Process was developed in response to feedback received from the 2023-2024 season, and to help alleviate event waitlists. The goal of this assignment process is to guarantee STAR 1-4 skaters the opportunity to perform at least once in the 2024-2025 season, in alignment with Skate Canada’s Long-Term Development (LTD) for the Learn-To-Train stage. Further to the STAR 1-4 Assignment Process, additional STAR 1-4 Events have been added to the 2024-2025 calendar to help meet the demand for skaters to perform at this level.
Parents of STAR 1-4 skaters will have the opportunity to complete a survey and select their top 2 choices of the STAR 1-4 event they would like to attend. Skaters who complete the STAR 1-4 Assignment Process Survey will be assigned to one (1) event, guaranteeing them the opportunity to participate and register at their leisure during a defined registration timeline. Skaters wishing to register for additional events must do so through public registration, space permitting.
The STAR 1-4 Assignment Process Survey will be completed through Google Forms and the link to complete the survey will be communicated through the following channels:
* Sent via e-mail to all subscribers of the Skate Ontario mailing list*
* Posted on Skate Ontario social media platforms including Instagram and Facebook
* Linked on the main page for the STAR 1-4 Assignment Process

The 2024-2025 STAR 1-4 Assignment Process Survey will open Monday, September 16th, 2024, at 10:00 AM ET, and must be completed by Sunday, October 20th, 2024, at 11:59 PM ET.
If you do not complete the survey by the deadline, you will not be included in the assignment process and must wait for public registration. Late survey completion requests cannot be accommodated. Event assignments are not completed on a first-come, first-served basis. All survey responses received before the deadline are treated equally.
