Job Description
Skate Canada Shelburne is looking for CanSkate coaches to join our coaching team. Our season runs from late September until March, with CanSkate programs on Monday and Wednesday evenings from 6:00 – 7:20 pm.
We are seeking enthusiastic and motivated coaches who are able to create a positive and fun learning environment for our skaters. Coaches must also be willing to work in a collaborative team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver CanSkate lessons by following the Skate Canada CanSkate program guidelines
- Create a positive, encouraging, and fun learning environment for our skaters
- Assess skater’s progress and provide individualized feedback
Qualifications
- CanSkate Coach In Training or higher
- Be a registered Skate Canada coach in Good Standing, which includes the following:
– Valid First Aid certificate
– Agreed to Skate Canada Code of Ethics
– Completed the Respect in Sport Training
– Complete BackCheck screening
– Ability to connect with young children
