Remembering Bill Boland

It is with profound sadness that Skate Ontario learns of the passing of Bill Boland. Since 1980, Bill volunteered his time, expertise and passion to the sport of figure skating.

He played an integral role in bringing the 2013 ISU World Figure Skating Championships to London. It was at this incredibly successful event that he was honoured with the Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award, given to individuals who make a significant, sustained, unpaid contribution to their community.

A class act in everything he did, Bill will always be remembered for being a true gentleman. He touched the lives of so many skaters, coaches and skating club members and was a mentor to his peers and fellow volunteers. He will be sadly missed in the Ontario skating community.

Thank you, Bill.
