Our Skater in Residence for the month of March is Newfoundland-native and Olympic Gold Medallist, Kaetlyn Osmond! Her impressive competitive skating career has earned her Olympic medals of every colour – Gold and Silver in the Team Event in 2018 and 2014 and Bronze in Singles in 2018. She won the World Championships in 2018 and has three Canadian titles under her belt.
A testament to just how extraordinary of an athlete Kaetlyn is, in 2014 her hometown of Marystown renamed their arena the Kaetlyn Osmond Arena, named a street after her and presented her with a symbolic key to the town. In 2019, she received the Order of Newfoundland and Labrador, which is top civilian honour for “excellence and achievement.”
Following life as a competitive skater, Kaetlyn has toured with Stars on Ice, Thank You Canada, Rock the Rink and Art on Ice and if that’s not enough, she has been coaching and putting on seminars as well.
Stay tuned to our website for Kaetlyn’s blog posts on the 6th and the 20th of the month, and we will announce an Instagram takeover sometime in March!
