Position Overview
KWSC is seeking a passionate and skilled coach to join our team in delivering high-quality STAR and Adult programming. This hybrid role allows for both independent contractor work (private lessons) and casual part-time employment (group sessions assigned by the Club). The successful candidate will contribute to a vibrant coaching team and have the opportunity to grow their own student base while supporting our current Base Coaches.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality technical instruction to STAR and Adult skaters.

Develop and implement individualized training plans to support skater development.

Foster a positive and encouraging learning environment where athletes can thrive.

Provide support coaching for our Base Coaches, assisting with their sessions while gradually building your own student base within the club.

Participate in club-led professional development opportunities to maintain a growth mindset and coaching excellence.
Availability Requirement
The successful candidate must be available to coach Monday to Thursday evenings, as well as Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings, to support the needs of our STAR and Adult skater training schedule.

Qualifications
Qualifications

Required: NCCP Provincial Coach Certified or higher.

Considered: Coaches currently working toward Provincial certification.

High completion of Skate Canada Professional Development (PD) courses is an asset.

Must be a Skate Canada Professional Coach in good standing.
Compensation

Private lesson rates are billed directly to skaters and set in consultation with KWSC’s Technical Director to align with club standards.

Group sessions assigned by KWSC are paid by the club as a casual part-time employee.

KWSC offers multiple PD opportunities annually; attendance is expected to support continuous learning and coaching excellence.
