Job Description
Skate Brockville is seeking a qualified and enthusiastic skating coach to join our growing club for the upcoming season.
About Skate Brockville
Skate Brockville is a Skate Canada-registered club offering program for skaters of all ages and skill levels, from CanSkate to competitive streams. We pride our selves on proviidng a positive, inclusive and supportive team skating environment focused on skill development, confidence and fun.
Position Overview
We are looking for a coach who is passionate about skater develpment and enjoys working with athletes at various stages of their skating journey.
Responsibilities;
- Deliver high-quality coaching to skaters in both group and private lesson formats.
- Candidate must be reliable and have a high level of professionalism
- Support the delivery of club programming, including CanSkate, StarSkate, and/or competitive streams.
- Guide and support skater development in alignment with Skate Candada standards and best practices.
- Create and maintain a positive, safe and encouraging enviromnent that promotes learning and growth.
- Communicate clearly and professionaly with skaters, parents/guardians, and club leadership.
- Work collaboratively within the Club’s Team Coaching Model as part of a coaching team lead by the Head coach.
- Within the StarSkate program, coaches do not build individual private clientele; instead, all coaching (group and private) is assigned and scheduled by the Head Coach to support all club skaters.
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Regional or Provincial Coach Certification, in good standing with Skate Canada
- For the right candidate Regional In-Training or Trained with be accepted
- Experience coaching CanSkate and/or StarSkate programs; competitive coaching experience is considrered an asset.
- Proven ability to coach skaters through Gold level assessments across all disciplines, including Dance, Artistic Skills and Freeskate
- Strong understanding of and commitment to Skate Candada National Delivery Stanadards of CanSkate and StarSkate as well as Skate Ontario’s CanSkate Excellence and Star 1-5 Excellence Program Standards.
- Dependable, punctual, and upholds strong standards of professionalism in both communication and conduct.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to engage effectively with skaters, families and colleagues.
- Maintains an enthusiastic and positive approach with a strong commitment to teamwork and collaboration.
- Flexibility and availability to work evenings and weekends.
