Job Description
Hanover & District Skating Club has proudly been offering Skate Canada’s learn to skate
programs since 1965. Our focus is on fun, fitness and participation from age 2 and up with the PreCan, CanSkate, StarSkate and AdultSkate programs. We welcome all skill levels and provide quality coaches, programs and resources to foster athletic development and achievement.
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Be willing to instruct all aspects of current Skate Canada programming offered by the club.
- Contribute and cultivate a positive skating environment that encourages improvement and achievements.
- Help in planning ice shows, assessment days and in-house competitions.
- Take an active role in promoting our club and supporting its future.
Skills:
The successful candidate will:
- Be enthusiastic and passionate about teaching all skill levels.
- Have strong organizational and time management skills.
- Be able to communicate and reply with board members in a timely manner.
- Be a positive role model and mentor.
- Be reliable in all commitments.
- Be open to coaching in a team environment.
Time Commitment: Season starts September 25, 2024 and ends March 28, 2025.
Need a coach for Wednesday 5:00 – 7:00 pm & Friday 4:30 – 7:30pm
Skating Programs: PreCan, CanSkate, StarSkate all levels and AdultSkate

Qualifications
Requirements:
The successful candidate will:
- Be minimum Regional Trained, have Star 1-5 Assessor Training, be knowledgeable and willing to coach CanSkate and all levels of skills, free skate, dance and artistic.
- Star 6-Gold Assessor Training would be an asset.
- Be a Skate Canada registered coach in good standing.
- Provide a copy of your coach dashboard.
