Position: Certified Skate Canada Coach
Location: Tilbury Figure Skating Club, Tilbury, ON
Start Date: September 2026
Number of Open Positions: 1
Club Skating Days: Monday/Thursday/Saturday
Hours per Week: 15 hrs weekly
About Us
Tilbury Figure Skating Club recently celebrated its 61st year as a recognized skating club in the small town of TIlbury Ontario. The Tilbury Figure Skating Club is a welcoming and community-focused rec skating club dedicated to providing high-quality skating programs for skaters of all ages and skill levels. We offer Skate Canada programming ranging from Learn To Skate and CanSkate to STARSkate, competitive development opportunities and potentially a Syncro Team.
Position Summary
We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Certified Skate Canada Coach to join our coaching team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging, safe and intentional programming, while helping skaters achieve their individual goals in a positive and supportive environment.
Responsibilities

Plan and deliver Skate Canada programs in accordance with Skate Canada standards and policies that are organized, purposeful and engaging.

Coach skaters at various levels, including CanSkate, STARSkate and PowerSKATE

Create a positive, inclusive learning environment.

Monitor skater progress and provide constructive feedback to skaters and parents.

Collaborate with fellow coaches and program assistants.

Contribute to club initiatives.

Willing to participate in club events, assessments, competitions and ice shows as required.

Uphold all professional standards which include SafeSport policies.
Compensation
A competitive compensation package will be offered based on the successful candidate’s qualifications, Skate Canada certification level, experience and assigned responsibilities. Compensation will be discussed during the hiring process.

Required:

Current Skate Canada Professional Coaching Certification- NCCP Regional Coach IN- Training or higher

In “Good Standing” with Skate Canada

Current First Aid/CPR Certification (or willing to obtain).

A current, clear BackCheck/criminal record check through Skate Canada’s approved screening process BackCheck (E-PIC).

Strong communication skills
-
Ability to work in a team environment and with skaters of varying ages and abilities.

Self motivated and reliable

Committed to ongoing professional development.

Interested in a long-term role within the club.
