Job Description
Centennial Park Skating Club (CPSC) is a well-established skating club in West Etobicoke that has been offering high-quality skating programs to our community since 1974. We are dedicated to providing opportunities for skaters of all ages to learn, grow, excel, and maintain an active and healthy lifestyle. Our programs proudly range from Pre-CanSkate to Gold STARSkate.
At CPSC, we believe in fostering an inclusive and welcoming environment for all skaters, coaches, and community members. Our coaches play a vital role in promoting inclusivity by creating a positive and respectful atmosphere where every skater can thrive and achieve their personal best.
Our STARSkate program has grown significantly over the past two years, and we are currently seeking an experienced coach to join our coaching team.
Qualifications
Requirements
- NCCP Regional Certification and current registration in good standing with Skate Canada
- Minimum 2 years of experience coaching within the STARskate program (considered an asset)
- Comfortable teaching freeskate, dance, and skills from STAR 1 through Gold
- Ability to provide a copy of your Coach Dashboard
- Experience conducting STAR 1-5 assessments
- Lead CanSkate sessions, working with program assistants (PAs), and overseeing PA’s responsibilities
Roles and Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with coaches, board members, and parents
- Coach both CanSkate and STARskate programs
- Oversee PA scheduling, development, training, and communication
- Act as a base coach for STARskate
- Develop and implement training programs aligned with Skate Canada’s CanSkate Excellence and STARskate guidelines
- analyze and assess skaters’ performances, providing constructive feedback and individulized coaching
- Attend competitions and provide coaching support when required
- Foster a positive, supportive and fun environment for skaters
- Assist with additional club events as needed

- Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
- Demonstrate ability to work in a collaborative coaching environment
- Experience as a CanSkate Coordinator is considered an asset
