Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee day-to-day club operations, ensuring compliance with budgets and Skate Canada/Skate Ontario policies.
- Collaborate with the CanSkate Director, StarSkate Director, Bookkeeper, Treasurer, and Board to plan and manage skating programs, ice contracts, and annual schedules.
- Develop and implement club policies, strategic plans, and yearly events (including staffing, marketing, communications, and financial planning).
- Manage registration, payments, invoices, attendance, and Skate Canada/Uplifter records.
- Coordinate with the Larry Grossman Arena and the City of Toronto for ice bookings and facility-related matters.
- Support coaches through invoice processing, and compliance tracking.
- Maintain club communications—emails, phone, website, e-blasts, and social media.
- Organize club events, test days, and activities; handle office administration, supplies, and petty cash.
- Recruit, train, and supervise office staff in collaboration with the Board.
- Attend monthly Board meetings and report on club operations and strategic objectives.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Board of Directors.
Assets (Preferred):
Experience
- Previous experience in a sports club, recreation, or non-profit administrative role.
- Experience coordinating with municipalities (e.g., City of Toronto) for ice bookings or facility rentals.
- Background in budgeting
Technical Skills
- Familiarity with Uplifter.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), and data management tools.
- Experience managing websites and social media (Instagram, Facebook, Club websites).
- Strong computer literacy and comfort learning new platforms.
Administrative & Interpersonal Skills
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively with a volunteer board, coaches, parents, and community partners.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and follow-up skills.
- Ability to manage confidential information with professionalism.
Other Assets
- Knowledge of figure skating and club operations.
- First Aid/CPR certification (an asset).
- Flexible availability, including evenings and weekends during skating seasons or events.
