Job Description
The Huntsville Skating Club is seeking an enthusiastic and qualified CanSkate Coach to deliver Skate Canada’s learn-to/skate program. This role involves fostering a fun, engaging, and safe learning environment while providing high-quality instruction to skaters of all ages and abilities.
The coach will play an important role in helping skaters build confidence, achieve personal milestones, and progress at their own pace A passion for coaching, a commitment to athlete development, and a dedication to creating a positive, inclusive, and supportive on-ice experience are essential to the role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach fundamental skating skills: balance, control, and agility
- Lead group lessons that emphasize movement, participation, and fun using circuits, music, and teaching aids
- Track progress through Skate Canada stages and badges
- Work collaboratively with program assistants
- Ensure a positive and inclusive environment for all participants
Qualifications
Skate Canada NCCP CanSkate Coach (in Training or higher)
In good standing with Skate Canada
Passion for working with children and beginner skaters of all ages
Strong communication and coaching skills
