Job Description
North Bay Skating Club is a vibrant, community-oriented skating club dedicated to fostering a love for skating among athletes of all ages and skill levels. We offer a range of programs including Canskate, STARskate, and Adult Synchronized skating and pride ourselves on providing a supportive and inclusive environment for all skaters to learn and grow.
Our club is growing and we are seeking passionate, energetic, and reliable Skate Canada CanSkate Trained/Certified Coaches to join our coaching team. The successful candidate will support our CanSkate program, helping skaters develop foundational skating skills in a fun, safe, and engaging environment.
Responsibilities:
- Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages skaters of all abilities.
- Provide constructive feedback to skaters to support their skill development.
- Ensure all sessions adhere to Skate Canada safety guidelines.
- Collaborate with other coaches, program assistants, and club volunteers.
- Attend regular coach meetings and club events as required.
Qualifications
- Current Skate Canada CanSkate Coaching Certification (in training considered).
- Registered and in good standing with Skate Canada for the current 2024-2025 season.
- Current First Aid Certification.
- Experience coaching in the CanSkate program is an asset.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- A positive, enthusiastic, and professional approach to coaching.
- Availability for evenings/weekends.
