On-Ice CanSkate Coordinator

The Goulbourn Skating Club is seeking an enthusiastic, organized, and certified On-Ice CanSkate Coordinator to lead the on-ice delivery of our CanSkate program. This role is essential in ensuring that our CanSkate sessions are delivered with the high standards set by Skate Canada, while creating a safe, fun, and engaging learning environment for skaters of all ages and levels. The ideal candidate is a dynamic leader with strong skating knowledge, who is passionate about inspiring and supporting both Coaches and skaters in their development.

The Goulbourn Skating Club is committed to running the Best CanSkate Program in accordance with Skate Canada Delivery Standards as well as the Skate Ontario Excellence Program.

Key Responsibilities:
● Lead and oversee the on-ice delivery of all CanSkate sessions, ensuring consistency with Skate Canada program standards.
● Supervise, support, and mentor CanSkate coaches and Program Assistants during sessions. Provide ongoing feedback on Program Assistants.
● Organize warm-ups, station rotations, and Group Activity/cool-downs in a fun, structured, and efficient manner.
● Ensure appropriate grouping of skaters based on skill levels and monitor individual progress throughout the session.
● Conduct or coordinate regular skater assessments and manage badge/ribbon progressions.
● Foster a positive and inclusive atmosphere that promotes confidence and enjoyment for all skaters.
● Communicate effectively with the CanSkate Director and Board regarding program logistics, equipment needs, and any concerns.
● Ensure the safety and well-being of all skaters and staff during sessions.
● Assist with special CanSkate-themed days, parent engagement events, and seasonal showcases as required.
● Assist with on ice implementation of safety rules and regulations and conduct professional handling of parental concerns during sessions.
