Job Description
The Goderich Skating Club, a vibrant and dynamic Skate Canada-sanctioned volunteer-run club, is excited to announce openings for StarSkate and CanSkate Coaches (Certified) for the upcoming 2024/2025 season. Located in Goderich, the prettiest town in Canada, and operating out of the Maitland Recreation Centre, our club is built on a community passionate about winter sports and comprised of skaters, families, coaches, and volunteers who take pride in an exceptional skating club.
Our Programs: We offer a range of programs including Pre-CanSkate, CanSkate, CanPower, and STARskate. With approximately 15 hours of programming per week, our sessions run from October to mid-March, with activities scheduled on Mondays, Wednesdays, and one morning a week dedicated to powerskating.
The Role: We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Coaches to join our collaborative team. We are flexible with the commitment—whether you prefer CanSkate, StarSkate, or both!
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver Learn-to-Skate Programs under the CanSkate Excellence guidelines.
- Collaborate with other coaches.
- Provide consistent and reliable coaching coverage throughout the season.
Qualifications
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Skate Canada CanSkate Coach, fulfilling all current requirements or working towards it.
- Outstanding communication skills.
- A reliable and committed work ethic.
- A passion for working with children, teens, and adults.
- Must be in good standing with Skate Canada.
