Job Description
Winchester Skating Club is seeking a CanPowerSkate Coach who is NCCP PowerSkate Trained or higher (and who has completed the most recent updates as required by Skate Canada)
The PowerSkate coach must be a registered Skate Canada Coach and maintain an “in good standing” status while coaching the program
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Adhere to delivery standards of the PowerSkate program
- Deliver all on-ice sessions
- Organize groupings and program assistants for on-ice delivery
- Ensure all participants are wearing/have proper equipment for the session
- Teach all skills using progressions and proper technique
- Assess skills based on the continuum of development and skill standards
- Train, supervise and evaluate program assistants
- Lead parent engagement sessions
Qualifications
- NCCP PowerSkate Trained (or higher)
- Skate Canada Registered Coach in good standing
- First Aid/CPR
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a team
- Skater-focused mindset
