Job Description
The Lindsay Skating Club is seeking a PowerSkate Coach to deliver dynamic on-ice sessions focused on skating development for hockey and ringette players.
PowerSkate is designed to enhance strong skating fundamentals through targeted instruction in balance, control, agility, and power. The role focuses on helping athletes improve efficiency, speed, and confidence on the ice, supporting their progression in both hockey and ringette.
Job Type: Contract (self-employed coach)
Contract Term: September 2026 – March 2027 (ongoing opportunities available)
Compensation: Typical range $42-$54/hour depending on certification and experience.
Schedule: Evening and/or weekends. 2-6 hours per week. Flexible based on coaching assignments and skater demand.
Key Responsibilities:

Teach skating fundamentals including speed, agility, balance, and power;

Deliver structured, high-energy sessions;

Provide feedback to skaters and families;

Maintain a safe and engaging learning environment;

Support skater development across all levels.
Qualifications

Skate Canada NCCP certification (PowerSkate in Training or higher);

PowerSkate experience preferred;

In good standing with Skate Canada;

Strong technical understanding of skating mechanics;

Experience working with hockey or ringette athlete development is considered an asset.
