Job Description
The Rideau Lakes Skating Club is located in Smiths Falls, Ontario and is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic coaches for our PowerSkate program. The applicants must be willing to work closely with our RLSC Coaches as well as the Board of Directors.
Our sessions run October to March, with pre and post season opportunities in September and April. We typically have ice Tuesday, Thursday and Sundays with Sunday mornings being our preferred PowerSkate time.
Qualifications
Qualifications to be met by September 1, 2025:

PowerSkate Coach In-Training status or higher

To be a Registered Skate Canada Professional Coach in Good Standing:
-
Must hold a valid First Aid Certificate

Maintain a renewed NCCP certification status as per the Coaching Association of Canada’s (CAC) Maintenance of Certification Policy

Have agreed to the Skate Canada Code of Ethics

Complete the Respect in Sport Activity Leader Training
-
Complete Back Check to coaches 18 years and older
- Comfortable teaching group lessons for all ages
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrates commitment to developing skaters in a fun, positive environment
