Job Description

The Dundas Skating Club is seeking a dedicated Bookkeeper and Registration Administrator to join our team. We are looking for a candidate with experience in QuickBooks and Uplifter or similar registration software. This role involves working closely with the Board’s Finance and Administration Committee and Treasurer, as well as communicating with skating club members. Strong communication skills are essential.

Key Qualifications:

  • Proven bookkeeping experience with proficiency in QuickBooks.

  • Experience with Uplifter or similar registration software platforms (an asset).

  • Strong Microsoft Word, Excel, and email platform proficiency.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of Skate Canada and skating programs (preferred).

  • Ability to adhere to the Club’s policies and procedures.

Responsibilities:

In this role, your duties will include:

  • Preparing and maintaining monthly financial statements and bank reconciliations.

  • Preparing year-end financial statements for a review engagement.

  • Supporting the annual budget process and monitoring performance against projections.

  • Managing receivables and processing payments (e.g., coach invoices, ice contracts, reimbursements).

  • Paying monthly bills and tracking financial transactions.

  • Providing revenue and expense projections to assist with planning.

  • Handling administrative tasks related to club registration, including processing registrations, refunds, and Skate Canada memberships.

  • Communicating with club members regarding registration inquiries and issues.

Work Hours:

This is a part-time position, with a contract for 600 to 800 hours per year. Most work will be remote and flexible, provided tasks are completed promptly and in accordance with deadlines. Meetings with the Treasurer and Finance and Administration Committee will be scheduled at mutually convenient times.

Compensation:

The hourly wage for this position will be commensurate based on experience.
