What a wonderful story of quick thinking and generosity from the Georgina Skating Club, one of the club’s participating in the Skate Ontario Club Modernization Pilot Program presented by Jackson Ultima. Each club participating in the pilot program has access to a skate bank to supply skaters at the club with top notch equipment, with the skates supplied by our wonderful partner, Jackson Ultima.

A few months ago, the Georgina Skating Club hosted Provincial Series K.I.S. presented by Elite Jump Performance, bringing in skaters from near and far. One young competitor traveled for hours to get there, eager to showcase her skating skills that she had worked so hard on. But as she arrived at the rink, a sinking realization hit her—she had forgotten her skates at home. Panic set in, and her mom, trying to lighten the moment, turned to the volunteers at the registration table and joked, “You don’t happen to have any extra skates, do you?”

It was then that one of the volunteers from the club had an idea— the club’s skate bank! They rushed to check and, to their relief, found a brand-new pair of Jackson Artiste skates in the skaters’ size, waiting to be used. With no time to waste, they handed them over to the skater, giving her the chance to still compete.

She was so happy to lace up the Jackson skates and hit the ice for the competition. If it weren’t for the skate bank and the generosity of Georgina SC, she would not have been able to skate that day. She skated her heart out, putting on a great performance,

even landing her axel and a double jump. When the competition ended, she was so grateful for her experience. The club’s quick thinking and generosity had made all the difference, allowing her to shine when it mattered most.
