National Volunteer Week takes place this year from April 19–25, 2026, and Skate Ontario is proud to recognize the dedicated individuals who generously give their time and energy to our sport. Figure skating in Ontario would not thrive without their passion, commitment, and unwavering support.
Volunteers play a vital role across every level of our skating community. From event volunteers and technical specialists to club and skating school supporters, board and committee members, program assistants, officials, judges, evaluators, and data specialists, their contributions are far‑reaching and meaningful. Each volunteer helps create positive, safe, and successful experiences for skaters, coaches, and families across the province.
Thank you to all of our incredible volunteers — your dedication truly keeps our sport strong.
While volunteers deserve appreciation every day, National Volunteer Week gives us a special opportunity to shine a spotlight on their contributions. Through Skate Ontario’s “High Five a Volunteer” initiative, recognized volunteers may be featured on Skate Ontario’s website and social media channels.
We invite you to help us celebrate the amazing volunteers who are driving skating forward in communities across Ontario. Please “High Five a Volunteer” by clicking the banner above and completing a short survey describing what makes your nominated volunteer so special. Throughout National Volunteer Week, we’ll be highlighting a number of these volunteers across our digital platforms, as well as sending an individualized certificate to each nominated volunteer.
