Timmins Porcupine Figure Skating Club

396 Theriault Blvd., Timmins, ON, P4N 5B6

The Timmins Porcupine Figure Skating Club had its origin as the McIntyre Skating Club.  The McIntyre Arena was the only arena that had ice in the summer and therefore hosted the best Summer Skating School in Canada. The likes of Barbara Ann Scott skated at the McIntyre Arena. As time passed, the Club was formed to incorporate the whole area and was therefore called the Timmins Porcupine Figure Skating Club. When the Archie Dillon Sportsplex was built in the 70’s, the Club moved its home to Timmins but remained the Timmins Porcupine Figure Skating Club as all from the area were welcomed.

The Timmins Porcupine Figure Skating Club has members at all levels of skating from beginner to the Starskater who is striving to achieve excellence in all components of figure skating:  Dance, Skills, Interpretive Skating and Freeskating and finally to the competitive skater working towards their dreams of making it to the national team. Jeffery Buttle was a member of the Timmins Porcupine Figure Skating Club and continued on to become Canadian and World Champion.

The Timmins Porcupine Figure Skating Club provides the fundamental skills training needed for success to ALL skaters including hockey, ringette, and figure skaters.
