The Richmond Hill Figure Skating Club (RHFSC) is a non-profit organization run by a Board of volunteers. We provide accredited lessons to skaters of all ages and abilities at both the recreational and competitive level. The RHFSC is fully sanctioned by Skate Canada and has been serving our community since 1956. All professional coaches are NCCP accredited by Skate Canada and First Aid Certified.
Here are the programs offered by RHFSC:
Pre-CanSkate: For skaters for aged 3 and 4. This program teaches skating skills through the use of simple instruction, games and toys
CanSkate – Learn to Skate: For skaters from 5 to 13 years of age. A national CanSkate Badge program teaches fundamental skating skills from Stages 1 to 4 in a group format and conducted by our NCCP Certified Professional Coaches.
Pre-Novice – Learn to Figure Skate: For skaters from 5 to 13 years of age. A national CanSkate Badge Program continuation to stages 5, 6 and STAR 1 – This Session is an introduction to figure skating in a group format and conducted by our NCCP Certified Professional Coaches.
Novice STARSkate : STAR 2 to 5 Program focuses on skating techniques that will prepare skaters for competitions and assessments. Skaters develop their Dance, Skating Skills, Freeskate and Stroking techniques in private lesson format by our Professional Coaches.
Senior STARSkate – This program further develops skills and techniques in the StarSkate program.
Beginner Adult CanSkate – For inexperienced adult skaters, this program teaches basic skating skills in 6 stages.
Advanced Adult STARSkate: For skaters who are 15 years of age and up, and have Novice STARSkate qualifications Off-Ice: An enhancement program focused on improving strength, movement, posture.
