Mariposa School of Skating

The Mariposa School of Skating is a full service training centre. We welcome skaters of all ages and skating disciplines from our local area or around the world to train with us for any length of time.
We have a coaching team and a variety of diversity skating programs we excel at delivering, from elite competitive figure skating programs to learn to skate to hockey skating programs to our RVH Therapy on Ice. Skating champions like Brian Orser, Elvis Stojko and Jennifer Robinson put Mariposa on the map as an internationally renowned school. Mariposa is a full-service training centre that offers top level instruction for every age and level of skater.

Our Internationally renowned school is THE destination for skaters looking to improve their skating!

Through our Performance Galas with the Barrie Huronia Rotary Club, our golf
tournament, Innisdale Secondary School Christmas shows and more. We have collected $1million for RVH, over $180,000 for the Alzheimer Society, $100,000 for the building of the Barrie Molson Centre and more.

SINGLES
Our singles program is designed for skaters that wish to excel in the world of competitive figure skating. This program is coached by national, World and Olympic level coaches. We offer specifically tailored on ice and off-ice programs to help skaters achieve their goals.

DANCE
The competitive dance program has been a part of the Mariposa School of Skating since 1988. Every year from 1995 to present there have been medalists (including many champions) at the Canadian Championships. We service every level of dance team from pre-preliminary to Senior. More recently we have also provided programs for competitive solo dancers.

PAIRS
The competitive pair program is a part of the Mariposa School of Skating. We service every level of Pair teams. This program is designed for skaters that wish to excel in the world of competitive figure skating. This program is coached by national, World and Olympic level coaches. We offer specifically tailored on ice and off-ice programs to help skaters achieve their goals.

HOCKEY SKATING “EDGE AND BALANCE DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM”
Players will be introduced to concepts such as inside and outside edges, both forwards and backwards, as well as the ability to connect different directions and edges
This Program is designed by Paul Matheson. Exercises are based around detailed repetitions and progressions that will allow the player to build a solid foundation of basic skills.
Each session will be conducted by two instructors from the internationally renowned Mariposa School of Skating.
