Established in 1938, the Kitchener-Waterloo Skating Club (KWSC) is a not-for-profit Skate Canada sanctioned organization governed by a volunteer Board of Directors and supported by a small number of administrative staff, a skilled team of professional coaches, and a dedicated team of volunteers who make it all happen.

Our home facility is the Carolyn Fedy Skating Centre, located within the Manulife Financial Sportsplex and Healthy Living Centre at RIM Park in Waterloo, Ontario. The complex includes four Olympic size rinks, an athletic centre, a multi-purpose mirrored and hardwood floor studio space, food concessions*, and a skate shop*. We also operate Learn-to-Skate programs in various locations throughout the twin cities of Kitchener and Waterloo.

With over 2500 members, KWSC is Canada’s largest skating club. From preschoolers to adults, we have taught thousands to skate. We also operate competitive programs that have sent singles skaters, dance pairs, freeskate pairs, and synchronized skating teams to compete in the Canadian Championships, as well as international competitions.

We are proud of our current and former members including Olympic silver medalists Kirsten Moore-Towers and Dylan Moscovitch, Olympic ice dance champions Tessa Virtue and Scott Moir, Four Continents ice dance champions and World silver medalists Kaitlyn Weaver and Andrew Poje, and many more.

Whether you are interested in learning to skate, figure skating, synchronized skating, power skating, training recreationally or at the elite level, we welcome you to our proud and passionate club.

OUR MISSION
Our mission: Inspiring a lifelong passion for excellence through skating
Our motto: Passion Lives Here

KWSC strives to foster a lifetime pursuit of excellence in everything our members do today, and beyond their skating years. Learning to skate teaches not only sport-specific skills, but it also empowers our skaters with life skills such as perseverance, goal setting, mental focus, an active and healthy lifestyle, problem-solving skills, a desire for personal achievement, and much more.
