About Us
The Guelph Skating Club (GSC) is a not-for-profit organization serving the city of Guelph and surrounding communities since 1951 promoting both recreational and competitive figure skating programs for all ages (3+ to adults). We offer skating programs that are designed to teach fundamental skating skills to people interested in ice sports including hockey, ringette and figure skating, as well as those wanting to skate for fitness and enjoyment of life. We have recently expanded the variety of programs offered to include synchronized skating where skaters can skate and perform in a team setting. Due to high demand, we have expanded the number of power skating sessions offered for those children 5-12 who play hockey and ringette. For figure skaters, we offer skill development programs at all levels and ages (including adults) for both recreational and competitive skaters. We are proud to have seen many of our skaters progress from the earliest stages of learning to skate to competing at the Skate Ontario Sectional and StarSkate provincial Championships.
Extra Details
The GSC organizes an ice show every couple of years that features all of our skaters and is always a big hit with family, friends and the Guelph community at large. In the years we do not hold the ice show, we typically have a smaller performance for family and friends that allows the skaters to show off the skills they have learned throughout the year.
