Are you thinking about Officiating?

Whether you are eager to dive right in or someone who just wants to learn more about officiating, we’re thrilled you’re here!

Contributing to the growth and development of Skate Ontario with Officiating is a meaningful way to get involved. We rely on our Officials who dedicate their time, knowledge, and expertise of skating to support our athletes and continue to maintain a high level of excellence in our sport.

There are four main categories of Officials; Judges, Evaluators, Technical Panel Officials and Data Specialists. While Judges, Tech Panel and Data Specialists all work together to make competitions and events happen, Evaluators assess skills at Evaluation Days in skating clubs. Each Pathway requires training, attending approved Skate Canada clinics and a written exam or evaluation in each discipline of skating in order to become a qualified Official.
