When Leigha Dell’Anno registered her five-year-old son for CanSkate at the Mississauga Skating Club two years ago, who would have thought that this decision would lead not only to Leigha getting back on the ice herself, but also to a brand new 2024 Nissan Kicks for her and her family?!

“I realized that I really wanted to have the family skating experience so I thought, ‘You know what, I haven’t skated since I was in Grade 8, so I might as well try it out’, so I signed myself up too,” Leigha told Skate Ontario. “My son and I did two sessions together, and then we won a car!”

Leigha entered a book of tickets (worth $40) in the Ontario Skaters Promotional Contest earlier this year for the first time. When she started getting texts from friends who watched our End of Year Broadcast that she had won the car, she almost couldn’t believe it was true! Though it took a while for the news to really sink in, when Skate Ontario met Leigha at Scarborough Nissan on June 18 to congratulate her on her beautiful new car, she was feeling excited about the prize.

“Its very exciting,” Leigha said, “I can’t wait to go home and drive it now!”
