Skate Ontario is pleased to extend a huge congratulations to Victoria Bird of the Oshawa Skating Club, winner of the 2026 Ontario Skaters Promotional Contest Grand Prize—a brand-new 2026 Nissan Kicks, generously provided by Scarborough Nissan!

Victoria shared that she doesn’t usually have much luck with draws—aside from once winning a flashlight—making this her very first major prize win. With her name selected during our End of Year Live Broadcast on Friday, June 5, from a pool of 136,740 ticket stubs, we’d say she is now officially lucky!

Victoria’s connection to skating comes through her sons, Finley and Weston, who participate in the CanSkate Program at Oshawa SC. According to Victoria, her sons have really enjoyed their time in CanSkate. “Oshawa CanSkate was great,” she told Skate Ontario. “The boys both really loved their instructors—they made them feel so comfortable. My youngest is very shy, and they were amazing at helping him come out of his shell and get out onto the ice. It was a wonderful experience.”
