Job Description
The Lindsay Skating Club is seeking a StarSkate Coach to join our coaching team. Coaches work collaboratively within a team-coaching model to support skater development from introductory to advanced levels. Our modernized StarSkate program integrates on-ice instruction with off-ice athletic development, providing a comprehensive training environment that fosters skill progression, confidence, and long-term athlete success.
Job Type: Contract (self-employed coach)
Contract Term: September 2026 – March 2027 (ongoing opportunities available)
Compensation: Club session rates (typical range $42-$54/hour depending on certification and experience), plus opportunity for private session rates.
Schedule: Evening and weekends. Flexible based on coaching assignments and skater demand.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide high-quality coaching in freeskate, skills, and dance, within a team coaching environment;

Prepare and support skaters for tests, competitions, and performances;

Contribute to off-ice physical literacy development;

Foster a positive, inclusive, and athlete centred environment;

Collaborate with the coaching team and club leadership.
Qualifications

Skate Canada NCCP certification (Regional coach or higher preferred);

In good standing with Skate Canada;

Experience in figure skating disciplines;

Strong interpersonal coaching skills.
