Job Description
The first experience in sport matters. Research from Canadian Sport for Life consistently shows that early-stage program quality directly impacts long-term athlete retention, confidence, and progression. At Mississauga Skating Club, we take that responsibility seriously.
We are seeking a CanSkate Director who understands that grassroots programming is not “entry-level” leadership; it is foundational leadership. This role ensures our CanSkate program meets and exceeds Skate Canada standards, maintains Exceeded Standard recognition through Skate Ontario, and reflects MSC’s values of excellence, respect, safety, and athlete-centred development.
Reporting to the Technical Director, the CanSkate Director leads program delivery, mentors coaches and Program Assistants, oversees accurate evaluations and progression pathways, and ensures every session is structured, safe, and developmentally aligned. This is a leadership role requiring operational discipline, clear communication, and strong judgment — balancing high standards with a welcoming, positive culture for families.
We are looking for an experienced, certified Skate Canada coach who believes in long-term development, builds strong teams, and takes pride in well-run systems. Someone who understands that retention, culture, and quality are built in the smallest details, session flow, grouping decisions, timely evaluations, and parent trust.
This is an opportunity to shape the front door of our club and directly influence the next generation of skaters.
Join our dynamic coaching team at Mississauga SC, offering programs 6 days a week at Tomken and Iceland Arenas. We’re seeking a dedicated CanSkate Director who is eager to grow with our club long-term. We are the proud inaugural winner of the Skate Ontario 2024 Club of the Year Award and are a CanSkate Excellence Exceeded Standard Club.
If you are ready to lead with clarity, standards, and purpose, we invite you to apply.
