Job Description
The Rideau Skating Club is located in Manotick, Ontario approximately 30 mins from downtown Ottawa serving Osgoode and Rideau Township, Findlay Creek, Riverside South, and parts of Barrhaven. We are actively seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Provincial in-training or higher coaches for our STARSkate program.
Rideau offers a variety of programming including CanSkate,StarSkate, AdultSkate and Pre-Competitive programs. We are fortunate to serve skaters of all ages including a large number of Teen/Adult CanSkaters, Adult Figure Skaters, and Recreational Figure Skaters. We are proud to be one of Skate Ontario’s CanSkate Excellence Exceeded and Star 1-5 Excellence Engaged clubs.
Our coaches work as one team to provide as many opportunities to our skaters as possible. Our ideal candidate will be interested in joining the team based structure while helping our club continue to build and grow these programs.
We participate in a variety of community and club events each year and are looking for candidates that share our philosophy that building ties with our members and community is essential for continuing to build our club into the future.
Our skaters train year round with programs offered:

Qualifications
Qualifications to be met by the start date:
-
Provincial Coach In-Training status or higher
-
To be a Registered Skate Canada Professional Coach in Good Standing:
-
Must hold a valid First Aid Certificate
-
Maintain a renewed NCCP certification status as per the Coaching Association of Canada’s (CAC) Maintenance of Certification Policy
-
Have agreed to the Skate Canada Code of Ethics
-
Complete the Respect in Sport Activity Leader Training
-
Complete Back Check for coaches 18 years and older
-
Comfortable teaching private and group lessons for all ages
-
Excellent communication skills
-
Demonstrates commitment to developing skaters in a fun, positive environment
-
Ability to teach up to Gold level in Dance, FreeSkate and Skills
-
Available for 12-15 hours of coaching per week
