Job Description
The East York Skating Club is seeking an enthusiastic, experienced, and team‑oriented STAR Skate Dance Coach to join our coaching staff for the 2026–2027 season.
About the Role:
We are looking for a coach experienced in teaching Ice Dance across the full STAR 1–Gold pathway, as well as the Legacy Dance structure up to and including Diamond Dances. The ideal candidate works collaboratively, supports skaters of all ages, and fosters a positive, development‑focused training environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Coach group and private Ice Dance sessions from STAR 1 through STAR Gold.
• Teach and prepare skaters for Dance tests through Diamond level.
• Prepare and evaluate skaters for STAR dance assessments to Gold standards.
• Collaborate effectively with the coaching team to support club programming.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive, and encouraging training environment.
• Communicate clearly with skaters, families, and club leadership.
Qualifications
Qualifications
• Skate Canada–certified coach (or actively completing requirements).
• Demonstrated Ice Dance coaching experience through STAR Gold and Legacy Diamond.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Comfortable coaching skaters of all ages and levels.
• Available to coach at least 2 times per week during the 2026/2027 season.
