The Kitchener Waterloo Skating Club is seeking candidates to join our coaching team for the 2022-2023 Season. The Kitchener Waterloo Skating Club (KWSC) operates primarily out of the Manulife Financial Sportsplex (formerly RIM Park) in Waterloo Ontario. The Club delivers programs in 8 different locations across Kitchener and Waterloo. KWSC has earned the designation of CanSkate Excellence Exceeded.
KWSC is in search of coaches to deliver the Synchronized Skating, CanSkate, and Adult STAR skate programs
- Synchronized Skating Coach to support the current Head Coach of the Synchronized Skating Program on the Novice and STAR 1- 4 teams. The Synchronized Skating support coach is a part-time position. The Synchronized Skating program runs on Fridays and Sundays this fall/winter season. Hours will be approximately once or twice a month working with the head coach.
- CanSkate coaches to deliver the program with the quality of a CanSkate Excellence curriculum
- Group and private lessons for adults working on STAR 5 and up
We would like to have coaches in place for our Fall sessions as soon as possible.
KWSC is hoping to find coaches who embrace our Club’s “skater first” philosophy, and are motivated to offer high quality programming
Qualifications
- Must be a registered coach with Skate Canada for the 2022/2023
- Must be in good standing with Skate Canada
- Valid First Aid Certificate
Additional Qualifications for Adult STAR skate coach:
- Skate Canada Professional Regional Coach In-training or higher
Additional Qualifications for Synchronized Skating Support Coach:
- Skate Canada Professional Regional Coach In-training or higher
- Knowledge of synchronized skating is an asset, or at least the intention to learn about synchronized skating
