Aurora Skating Club – Synchronized Skating Coach

The Aurora Skating Club has been proudly serving the Aurora and surrounding areas since 1953.  The Aurora Skating Club is seeking a Synchronized Skating Coach for the 2023-2024 Borealis Synchro Team. 

A successful candidate must demonstrate a passion for the sport of Synchro,

and be highly motivated to build a dynamic team(s).  Ability to encourage team commitment and a strong sense of pride through fun, enthusiasm, and structure.

A reliable coach who will foster a positive training environment through their dedication to the team(s) and the overall Club. Able to communicate and interact well with coaching team, skaters, parents, volunteers, and board members.

Qualifications include:

Skate Canada Provincial Level Coaching or higher.

• Must be a registered Skate Canada Coach; full payment of all registration fees and insurance premiums annually as required by Skate Canada.
• Must be in Good Standing with Skate Canada.
• Previous experience coaching synchro, and/or skating on a competitive synchro team would be considered an asset.
• Record of experience in skating and coaching.
• References will be requested, should you be contacted for an interview.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• On-ice coaching team(s) weekly; 1 Wednesday night, 1 Saturday morning.
• Off-ice training to team(s) at least once a week.
• Work within board approved team budgets.
