About the Toronto Cricket Skating & Curling Club: As a family-oriented private club, our mission is to be a great club for our members by delivering exceptional experiences, inspired by our warm and welcoming culture. Our vision is to be the private athletic and social club of choice in Toronto. We value Sportsmanship and Camaraderie, Heritage and Respect, Excellence and Innovation, Wellness and Fun. Located in North Toronto, the Club consists of over 4,000 members, with a strong presence in both the local and international social and sporting community.
We currently have an opportunity for a Skating Manager who will be responsible for the management of skating activities to provide high quality skating opportunities for members from grassroots through recreational and all levels of competitive skating.
Key Responsibilities
- Responsible for the planning, management, marketing and execution of all skating programs.
- Ensures program compliance with activity rules and regulations, taking into account the rules and policies of external sports organizations.
- Working with the Skating Consultants, hires, directs and leads staff and liaises with all skating coaches.
- Assists with staff training, directing, scheduling and delegating operation activities, ensuring productivity, quality of work, safety, and efficiency as required.
- Manages finances for the department and maintains records.
- Manages communications, registration, billing and a variety of administrative processes.
- Manages major Activity events (Ice Show, club competitions, social functions).
- Works in compliance with Occupational Health & Safety Act (OHSA) and any safety policies and procedures set out by the Club.
- Conduct self in alignment with the Well Played service model (Prompt, Personalized, Polite) to support member services and respect in the workplace.
Qualifications
Education/Certification:
- Completion of post-secondary diploma or equivalent required, preferably in a Sports Administration or Business program; undergraduate university degree an asset
- Standard First Aid and CPR/AED certification required
- Skate Canada Membership required
Experience:
- 3-5 years progressive experience in private club or related work environment
- Experience in a skating club/school or similar sport environment in a supervisory / management capacity
- Demonstrated experience with all aspects of Skate Canada programming, and advanced knowledge of local, provincial, national and international sport systems
Skills:
- Self-motivated with a demonstrated ability to function independently and in teamwork situations
- Excellent leadership, administration, interpersonal and communication skills with a proven focus on customer service, complemented by superb organization, team building and multi-tasking skills
- Demonstrated professional and ethical responsibility to protect privacy, use confidential information appropriately, and treat sensitive situations with appropriate degree of tact and discretion
- Flexibility to work weekdays/evenings/weekends as required
