Updated Return to Play Documents – As of Nov. 11, 2021

As of November 11, 2021, Skate Ontario has made a few updates to clarify current expectations within Step 3 of the Ontario Reopening plan in the Return to Play Protocols and Session Participation and Health Screening Tracking.

The updates within the documents include:

  • The Skate Ontario waiver is required to be completed by each individual prior to participation once per year and kept on file for a minimum of two years
  • A skating club or school’s COVID-19 Response Plan must ensure that implementations of health and safety guidelines comply with all public health guidance
  • Clubs and skating schools should coordinate with their facility to ensure the execution of daily health screening is robust and follows all public health guidelines. Screening is not required to be duplicated by clubs or skating schools if already being undertaken by a facility.
  • Contract tracing is required by either by clubs/skating schools or facilities (not both) and must be kept for a minimum of 30 days
  • Clubs/skating schools must follow the facility guidelines with respect to spectators including any physical distancing, vaccination and mask or face covering requirements
  • Reminder – club/skating school members should follow all public health guidelines regarding COVID-19
