Skate Ontario Synchronized Skating Update

Dear Skate Ontario Synchronized Skating Community,

As a follow up to the announcement regarding the cancellation of the 2021 Skate Canada Synchronized Skating Championships, we wanted to share information about several new synchronized skating initiatives from Skate Ontario for this season:

  • Skate Ontario is excited to launch a series of Virtual Skills Challenges for November and December.  These Virtual Skills Challenges will be for all levels of SYS, Beginner to Senior, including Adult!  Each video entry will be given one ballot for a draw. We will draw a winner for both November and December challenges. Videos will be shared on the Skate Ontario social media sites. Look for more information on our Skills Challenge coming November 1st.  Additional Virtual Skills Challenges will be available for Beginner and Elementary in the new year.
  • Skate Ontario is also working on Virtual Monitoring Opportunities for teams in the new year. The focus of this monitoring will be on elements and will be available for all Pre-Juvenile-Senior level teams, including Adult. All teams are encouraged to participate! More information will be available in December for virtual monitoring opportunities.
  • Skate Ontario is working together with the other provinces and Skate Canada on possible Virtual Event Opportunities to take place in the new year. More information will be available in the coming months.

Thank you!
