Organizational Announcement!

Skate Ontario is excited to announce and welcome a new addition to the Skate Ontario Team.

Kate McNeil – Manager, Club and Skating School Services

Kate brings over 14 years of experience in governance and operations. She previously served as the Governance and Operations Lead at Canadian Sport Institute Pacific, Executive Director of Water Ski Wakeboard Alberta, Sport Development Sport Consultant for the Alberta Government, and most recently as a Scouting Relationship Manager with Scouts Canada.

Kate is also a Certified Life Coach and offers 1:1 and group leadership and mindset coaching to women through her private practice. Passionate about system excellence, Kate achieved a master’s degree in Sport Administration from the University of Ottawa, focusing on organizational behaviour and system alignment in the Canadian amateur sports system.

She’s no stranger to the sport of figure skating. As a skater, Kate achieved her triple gold tests, represented Eastern Ontario Section, and coached CanSkate at her local club. She completed an internship as part of her Masters program with Skate Canada. Kate then worked in the Events Department of Skate Canada for three seasons before relocating to Victoria, BC. Kate became an Official and is a Senior Sectionals judge in Singles. While out west, she served as the Vice Chair of the Vancouver Island Region, Team Leader for Alberta, North West Territories, and Nunavut, and completed a term on the Alberta, North West Territories, and Nunavut section Board as the Chair of Athlete Development.

In her role with Skate Ontario, Kate will support club and skating school operational excellence across the province. She will develop and deliver resources and tools to support effective and sustainable organizational structures in clubs and skating schools while offering individual club and school consultations through our new Organizational Excellence Program.

Please join us in welcoming Kate McNeil to the Skate Ontario Team!
