MK MacDougall – Coach of National Intermediate Synchro Champions – Meraki

By: Skate Ontario Staff

Leaside’s synchronized skating teams go under the name Meraki and have plenty of talent both on and off the ice. The coach of the Intermediate team, MK MacDougall knows a thing or two about synchronized skating after 15 years as a skater on the Ontario legendary team known as black ice.

All of MK’s experience as an athlete has been rolled into her career as a coach. At the 2018 National Synchronized Skating Championships, the Meraki Intermediate team won the national title. Meraki then went on to be inducted into the Leaside Sports Hall of Fame at a ceremony in the Fall of 2018.

The training never stops for this Ontario team and in this interview, taken at their pre-Holiday gala, MK talks about the importance of the support from Skate Ontario.

Congratulations on your induction Meraki Intermediate! Skate Ontario is proud of you!
