Skate Ontario Opportunity – Coordinator, Synchronized Skating

Skate Ontario is the Provincial Sport Organization (PSO) recognized by the Ontario Government for skating in the Province of Ontario. We provide services and support for our over 300 Member clubs and skating schools  including programs and opportunities for over 70,000 participants including skaters, coaches, officials, administrators and volunteers.


Job Purpose

The Coordinator, Synchronized Skating is a member of the Skate Ontario sport department responsible for providing support to Skate Ontario synchronized skating programming from the Learn to Train through to the Sport for Life stages of development. This will include the coordination of planning and logistics, execution, communication, and monitoring of all synchronized skating programming directed to clubs and skating schools. As a member of the sport team, the coordinator is responsible for providing a consistent and best in class approach to all sport programs for Ontario.


Duties and Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and support the delivery of synchronized skating programming and development opportunities in the following program areas:
    • STAR 1-5
    • Learn to Train
    • Train to Train
    • Train to Compete
    • Train to Win (supporting Skate Canada High Performance)
    • Active for Life
  • Coordinate, support and execute communications with synchronized teams, managers and coaches
  • Coordinate, support and execute monitoring and feedback opportunities for Provincial, National and International competitive teams training in Ontario
  • Support synchronized skating teams at provincial and national competitions
  • Manage day-to-day communications with Member clubs and skating schools directly related to synchronized skating development programs
  • Utilize on-line software programs and tools to support the execution of high-quality sport programs
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Qualifications include:

  • 2+ years experience in synchronized skating development
  • Experience in organizational support at a skating Club, Section or National level
  • Experience in working within established budgets and tracking expenses
  • Experience with coordinating and executing administrative support in an organization

WORKING CONDITIONS
  • Hybrid office and home-based work environment
  • Travel will be required at different times of the year to meet the needs of the business
  • Extended hours on evenings and weekends will be required at times to meet the needs of the business
  • Must have use of a vehicle and a valid driver’s licence
  • All employees must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19
