Synchronized Skating Coach at the Kitchener Waterloo Skating Club
Job Description
The Kitchener Waterloo Skating Club (KWSC) is seeking a Head Coach to lead our Synchronized
Skating Program, specifically for the STAR 4 & Juvenile teams. KWSC operates primarily out of the Manulife Financial Sportsplex/RIM Park in Waterloo Ontario. The Club delivers programs in eight different locations across Kitchener and Waterloo. KWSC has earned the official Skate Canada designation of CanSkate Excellence- Exceeded. Coaches must embrace our Club’s “skater first” philosophy, and be motivated to offer high quality programming. The Head Coach will need to be available for some meetings in June to work with the current Coach and get to know the teams, and will start end of August for the Synchronized Skating
Bootcamp.
Responsibilities:
Passionate about growing the discipline of Synchronized Skating.
Develop and implement training programs that enhance the skills of our synchronized skating
teams.
Foster a positive team culture that promotes collaboration and teamwork.
Attend competitions, evaluate performances, and provide constructive feedback to skaters.
Manage team needs by being proactive and a good planner.
Maintain open communication with athletes, parents, and KWSC staff regarding team
planning and performance.
Monthly meeting with the TD and team managers to review team progress, skater recruitment,
seasonal planning, etc.,
Work with other coaches to support the development of the entire skating program.

Qualifications
Qualifications
Coach in good standing with Skate Canada.
NCCP regional or higher certification.
Minimum of 3 years of experience coaching synchronized skating teams.
Ability to motivate and inspire athletes to achieve their full potential.
Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
Growth mindset and commitment to continuous learning.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with athletes,
parents, coaches and staff.
Previous coaching experience preferred
Valid First Aid Certificate
