Coaching Opportunity

The East York Skating Club has had multiple retirements over the course of the pandemic.  Operating out of the East York Memorial Arena and Don Montgomery Arena, our club offers sessions Sunday-Friday.  We are a community skating club with a long history of helping our local community skaters achieve excellence in figure skating.  Our season is expected to begin Sep 6, 2022.

We are actively seeking up to 2 full-time equivalent STARSkate Coaches and have a number of skaters STAR 1- 6 who are looking for private coaching for the year ahead.

Coaches in any of the following categories are encouraged to apply:
• Coaches with a Starskate vision who are looking for a supportive club to help further build an outstanding Starskate program
• Individuals looking for full-time work, with the option to have a contract teaching in our Canskate programs
• Coaches with Star 6-gold experience and an area of interest who are looking to bring expertise in dance, jumps or spins to our club
• Coaches interested in a part-time commitment and looking for a compatible fit

Required Qualifications:
• Regional Trained or higher
• Must be in good standing with Skate Canada

Preference will be given to coaches:
• with experience and enthusiasm taking Starskate competitors to Star 1-4, Super Series (Star 5-Gold) or Sectional Series competitions.
• with excellent communication and teamwork skills

The club is willing to consider applicants already teaching part-time at another club with specific schedule requests.
