CANSkate/STARSkate Coach for the 2019/20 Season – Thorold Figure Skating Club

The Thorold Figure Skating Club,  located in the Niagara Region is actively seeking a Regional Coach In-Training or higher to join our team for the the upcoming 2019/2020 Season.

The Thorold Figure Skating Club runs from September to March and offers CANSkate and STARSkate programs 4 days a week: Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings as well as Sunday afternoon.

We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who works well with others and who encourages skaters at all levels.

Key Qualifications:

  • Skate Canada professional with a NCCP Regional Coach In-Training or higher status
  • Registered: to be a Registered Skate Canada Professional Coach, full payment is required of all registration fees and insurance premiums annually by Skate Canada
  • In Good Standing: To be a Registered Skate Canada Professional Coach in Good Standing, the following is required:
  1. Must hold a valid first aid certificate.
  2. Screening must be done through the company approved by Skate Canada.  Following review of the results of this screening, the status must show as “Clear” In the Skate Canada profile of the coach.
  3. Must hold a NCCP status of Regional Coach In-training or higher.
  4. NCCP certified coaches must maintain a renewed NCCP certification status as per the Coaching Association of Canada’s (CAC) Maintenance of Certification Policy.
  5. Have agreed to the Skate Canada Code of Ethics
  6. Completed the Respect in Sport Activity Leader Training. A coach must be re-certified in this training every 3 years
