About Us

Silver Blades is a volunteer-run skating club, sanctioned by Skate Canada, that has been serving the Etobicoke community for over 70 years. Conveniently located in the Bloor and Royal York area, we operate out of Central Arena at 50 Montgomery Road. Our season runs from September to May, and we offer a variety of programs for hockey and figure skating skill development, run by professional Skate Canada coaches. Our popular PreCanSkate, CanSkate and CanPower programs fill up very quickly, and we have more than 500 annual members. We also have a growing synchronized skating program, with Beginner, Juvenile, Adult II and Adult III teams currently competing under our Ice Unite banner. Our annual Club Competition takes place in February, and many of our skaters take advantage of this opportunity to showcase their newest skills in a friendly, competitive environment. Every other year, we run a spectacular Ice Show in April, with a winter Open House and CanSkate Olympics highlighting the in-between years. Bottomline, whatever your child’s skating goals are, we’re sure we can help them get there!

Extra Details

Our club’s facility enjoys connected access to Memorial Pool, and many of our families take advantage of this opportunity to enroll other children in swim programs taking place at the same time as our skating sessions. We offer youth and adult synchronized skating.
