Notice of Synchronized Skating Technical Panel Seminar

Skate Ontario will be hosting a Synchronized Skating (SYS) Technical Panel training seminar on
September 21-23, 2018 at the Skate Ontario Section office in Mississauga.

Background:

This introductory training course is open to any member of the Ontario section interested in becoming
trained to become a Technical Controller (TC) or Technical Specialist (TS) in SYS. Candidates must have
the applicable skating background as listed by Skate Canada, which must include:

  • Skating Background
    • 2 of Junior Bronze or STAR 5 free skating, skills, dance tests; or
    • Any one of Senior Bronze free skating, skills, dance; or
    • Juvenile competitive test; or
    • Any one higher level test
  • For TC: Recommended to have Regional Referee qualifications or hold current qualifications as a technical specialist
  • For TS: Recommended to have experience as a skater, coach, judge, referee, or TC at the section/region level

Candidates who do not reside in Ontario or are not members of the Ontario section should contact their respective sections.

Seminar:

Three days, in class seminar that will include both a written and practical exam.

Process:

  • Candidates complete the online application form found here and submit to Sabrina Wong at [email protected]
  • All applications are due July 27, 2018
  • All candidates will be contacted by August 3, 2018 in regards to their application
  • The number of candidates selected will depend on organizational need and the number of applications received
